Most of us know the story of the Wedding at Cana-In the traditional telling Jesus, his disciples and Mary, his mother all go to Cana to celebrate a marriage. Days of dancing, feasting, and revelry ensue-so much so that party-goers run out of wine. Encouraged by his mom, Christ then performs the miracle of turning water into wine-and the party continues.
Some who subscribe to a more gnostic view believe that there are deeper hidden elements to this story-why was Jesus at a party in the first place? Who were these people getting married anyway? What is the significance behind the alchemy of turning water into wine? Some even go so far as to ponder whether the groom was Christ himself joining in holy union with his own beloved.
Whether your take on the story is more traditional or not-everyone agrees that Wedding Feast at Cana is the perfect formula to celebrate love, romance, and marriage blessings.
I work ingredients like rose petals, cinnamon, and orange blossoms to celebrate love and marriage, Dixie John Root to encourage love relationships to deepen and partners to stay put, and Balm of Gilead for kind speech and any occasion that reconciliation might be required. The anointing oil does contain alkanet and may stain clothing or surfaces red.
